Monsoon
By Holly | April 13, 2007
Finally! Got a Monsoon sock that fits the girl. I am now working the foot of the second. I’ll give it to the Blue Moon ladies, their yarn holds up to frogging and ripping and tinking. I can’t wait to get the next shipment.
Mexico was great, once we finally got there. We were late getting into Houston and our connecting flight left without us. They got us on a different flight, but then we had to go through Mexico City and then on to Puerto Vallarta. 5 hours later than when we were supposed to get there, we arrive at our hotel to be told that they didn’t have the room we booked – a suite, 2 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. Somehow they had “given it away” – mind you, we weren’t late checking in – but they had 2 single rooms next door to each other and that would have to do. That was their attitude, for real. No apology, no compensation – we would have settled for cocktails and dinner – not even a look of understanding from these twits. I even called CheapTickets looking for help but was told by that waste of air that I didn’t have a trip booked and all she could find was a car rental. Uh, I haven’t ever rented a car through them and who in their right mind would rent a car in Puerto Vallarta? Those people drive like whackadoos! That’s coming from a woman who drives in Atlanta everyday with no fear. Besides, taxis are dirt cheap. Needless to say I won’t be using CheapTickets again and I will never, ever stay at Villa del Palmar or any of their sister properties again either. Not only were the desk clerks and managers clueless and unhelpful that resort was wayyyy to white American for me. After all of that we got settled and had a great time. Too much sun, too much food and way too much Pacifico. Mom said she hadn’t drunk beer like that since she was 30.
Mr. and I are leaving later on to go visit his family in Greensboro. I’ll get in sock time and maybe play some Loco Roco. Hopefully my back won’t start up again – I’ve been down all week with some freaky spasm. Getting old is so much fun. Should be a good weekend.
