Heads up to everyone in the ATL: it’s Iron Pour Weekend! Food, beer, music and molten iron over on Edgewood (I grabbed this from the GSU site):
Holiday Iron Pour and Silent Auction
Saturday, December 15, 2007 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Edgewood Sculpture Studio
Admission: $10 each for scratch molds; $5 donation for the party; covered dish contributions encouraged
Hosted by the Sculpture Department and the Edgewood Sculpture Forum, Georgia State’s sculpture students’ organization, the annual Holiday Iron Pour party is an extraordinary evening’s entertainment of fire, molten metal, live music, food and good spirits. Proceeds from the auction benefit the GSU sculpture program.
The schedule will run as follows: 2 p.m., studios open for participants to make “scratch” molds. 4 p.m., iron pour begins; silent auction opens for bidding. 8 p.m., iron pour ends; party begins with music by the “Boo Hoo Ramblers.” 9 p.m., silent auction ends; winners announced.

That was the most fun of being a sculpture student – the bronze pours. Kicks ass!
