Moms is the greatest

By Holly | January 21, 2008

Moms is in NYC. She and her husband gave the trip to themselves for Christmas. Then they found out ASHRAE was happening up there this year and combo’d up which makes it even better as they are “letting” the company pick up part of the tab. Nice, eh? I can’t complain though. They’ve sunk the money in and don’t get paid properly so I am cool with the company picking up things like this even if I get totally jealous and wish it were me instead. Me instead as in my taking the paid holiday to NYC. No me instead as in me not getting paid properly. And definitely not me instead as in me having to attend the ASHRAE show and having the pigs talk to my boobs whilst making not so subtle passes or outright asking me to meet them in their room later. Dig? I mentioned to Moms that if she just happened to be in SoHo she should stop by Purl, you know just in case she wanted to bring me a souvenir. I get a call from her this morning that they are at a coffee shop down the way from there waiting for the shop to open. Ooooohhhhh. They’ve got The Fibre Company’s Terra which I have been eyeing for Ysolda’s Gretel. That pattern has my sister’s name all over it and her birthday is coming up in two weeks. Moms gets into Purl and calls me up. Not only has she located the Terra, she’s describing in detail the colors and helping to decide on sis’s yarn. We decided to go with Dark Indigo for her because it will totally go with her favorite coat. I had her throw Logwood Purple in for me since she’s there and I can’t get it locally. I can’t wait for her to get home so I can get started. That is if she makes it home. NYC is one of her favorite places and when she was in Purl she sounded a little breathy…like she might just get lost petting all the fiber.

Sorry no pics – I hate that, personally – but I will update with those later. I’ve finished Fyne and some other random things that I haven’t blogged about yet. I’ve been completely sucked into the Ravelry vortex and have been way too lax with this blog.
